Some manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Volkswagen consider their automatic transmission fluid to be "lifetime oil"

and state the original fluid will last the life of the transmission.

Unfortunately even the best specification oils degrade over time and most modern automatic transmissions now require a

fluid exchange service every three years, or 30,000 miles.

In a traditional automatic transmission fluid change, the technician drains the old fluid, replaces the filter and refills the system.

 

While faster and cheaper, only 45% - 60% of the oil will be drained, the remainder will be left in the torque converter,

cooler lines, valve body and components.

Here at Elite Auto Tuning NI we have an automatic transmission flush (ATF) and fill machine. By using a detergent based cleaning cycle,

the ATF machine changes 99.9% of the transmission fluid.
